Thoughtful and thorough travel prep! I enjoyed working with Andrea, who responded quickly to several of my inquiries about Alaska travel. We traveled in August to Glacier Bay National Park, leaving from Juneau. Logistically, everything was taken care of. With a ferry or flight option to Gustavus, the jumping-off point, we opted for the ferry. Once we arrived we got on a bus to the Glacier Bay Lodge, for an included overnight. Through Alaska Active Travel LLC, we booked a two-day excursion to Glacier Bay near Juneau in mid-June 2025. On the first day, we spotted whales (humpbacks) and other marine animals. We were lucky enough to see many humpbacks and also the "first" orcas of the season. An unforgettable experience.

We have used Alaska Active two times now and had great experiences both times. First off, I was skeptical since the agent is completly online; but I booked anyway hoping not to be ripped off! I am very glad we did. In 2019 we took the train from Anchorage to Fairbanks, then a small bush plane to Bettles Lodge, then back to Fairbanks and to Cheana Hot Springs.
