Katmai National Park boasts the largest population of protected brown bears in the world. During the summer sockeye salmon runs, Katmai's Brooks River is the focus of bears feeding in the park, providing visitors with unparalleled views of Alaskan brown bears in their natural habitat. Your travels to Brooks Lodge in Katmai National Park begin when you depart from Homer by floatplane. The flight takes about an hour and a half to get across Cook Inlet. Upon arrival, you will be given a brief bear orientation by a park ranger and learn how to conduct yourself while exploring in bear country. You will have the opportunity to visit the World Famous Brooks Falls where brown bears feed and the friendly National Park Service rangers will answer all of your questions about this incredible park. |
